#IKEAtemporary is a temporary space set up in Milan for their fantastic World Expo.
The 2025 Concept kitchen, created by students at Lund University and Eindhoven University of Technology, explores how technology will remove some of the barriers that keep us from enjoying everyday cooking.
Simple stuff like like self-refrigerating containers and a worktop that gives you recipe suggestions based on the food you put on top of it.
The super-cool IKEA HACKA is a kitchen that embodies braces the trend towards modifying and customising products (hence the hack). The simple kitchen makes it possible to combine IKEA products with other things you have at home (or even things you’ve created yourself) to create a kitchen that’s totally you.
For the next six months, there’s a packed schedule of events, workshops, talks and cook alongs around all sorts of interesting topics related to our lives in and around the kitchen.
